This exquisite engraving after Edgar Degas (1834–1917), titled Danseuse, etude de nu et mouvements (Dancer, Study of Nude and Movements), originates from the celebrated album Degas Danse dessin (Degas Dance Drawings), published by Ambroise Vollard, Paris, and rendered by Maurice Potin, Paris. The album was printed by A Jourde, maitre imprimeur, Paris, on February 24, 1936. The composition reflects Degas’s relentless investigation of movement and anatomy, capturing the dancer’s body in a state of analytical observation where motion, balance, and physical structure are reduced to their essential visual logic.
