François Bouchot (1800-1842), peintre et graveur, est né à Paris en 1800. Il étudia la gravure sous la direction de Richomme, puis devint élève de Regnault, puis de Lethière, et obtint le grand prix de Rome en 1823. Il expose au Salon de 1824 à sa mort, survenue à Paris en 1842. Un 'Silenus ivre' de lui est à la galerie de Lille, et l’enterrement du général Marceau à la mairie de Chartres. Il a également été célébré pour ses portraits.
