Shadowing Death is a woodcut print on paper realized by French artist in 1900s G. Berger.
Signed on the plate on the lower right.
The state of preservation is very good.
The artwork represents the dark scenery of skulls and dead in a dark stormy seascape, mysterious tribe war, with a raised flag on the right along the skulls, skilfully depicted by expressive lines and perfect application of black to express the bitter and deathly situation, in harmony by black clouds, made a strong feeling of the lifeless scene through engraving. The strong contrast of dimension of skulls on the right and small departing figures at the left, all together made a portentously gloomy or horrifying beauty. Apocalyptic narration of death on seascape.
