About the Item
Grant Arnold's Summer Landscape, made in 1936, in the depths of the Depression, is a study in peace and calm. It's as though he found a refuge from the world -- in all likelihood it's a scene in the artists' colony of Woodstock, NY. His delicate working on the lithographic stone serves the subject extremely well.
Several lithographs by Grant Arnold are in the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
This impression is signed, titled, and dated, in pencil. There was an edition of 30.
