About the Item
L'attelage is a beautiful original wood print realized by Paul Ledoux (1884 -1960) as the monogram on plate shows on the lower-right corner.
This is an original print signed and numbered in pencil on lower margin. Edition of 160 prints. This Modern artwork representing a farmer with his cart stopped by a couple of horses in love, is in good conditions, except for a diffused foxing. This defect does not affect the image.
White cardboard passepartout included, cm 35 x 49.
Paul Ledoux (1884-1960) is an artist-painter and engraver born in Alsace, a French province became German after the War of 1870. After his artistic studies in Strasbourg, Paris and Munich, he returned again in Paris in 1914 at the time of the declaration of war. He enlisted in the French army and fought in Argonne. During the conflict, day after day, he took notes in his little notebooks . He also succeeds in continuing his art illustrating the lives of soldiers and places of battle.
