Luquet, Paris.
This elegant 19th-century etching by Spanish artist Ricardo de los Ríos depicts a refined young woman seated in an ornate interior, absorbed in her thoughts, accompanied by a small dog. The work captures both the delicacy of bourgeois domesticity and the technical finesse for which de los Ríos was celebrated. De los Ríos, a skilled engraver and painter active in Paris, exhibited at the Salon and was widely praised for his interpretations of genre scenes and literary subjects.
Signed and dated in the plate. Printed by Cadart, the renowned Parisian publisher of original etchings.
A beautiful impression in excellent detail, with wide margins and natural toning consistent with age.
