This original print is numbered on plate in Roman numerals on higher margin: “Tom II /Tav XX" and is a plate from the series "Illustrazioni de'Monumenti scelti Borghesiani già esistenti nella Villa sul Pincio () date ora per la prima volta in luce dal cav. Gio. Gherardo De Rossi e da Stefano Piale sotto la guida di Vincenzo Feoli", by Ennio Quirino Visconti, published by Stamperia de Romanis in Rome, 1821.
This old master’s original prints representing a precious piece of the Borghese collection is in excellent conditions with a usual yellowing of the paper at the edges, some light signs of the time (some little wormholes on the left margin beyond the marginal line of the matrix and a thinning of the paper along the margins) but with fresh impression.

This collection in two volumes is a beautifully detailed catalog of classical sculptures collected by Prince Borghese (1730-1800) in his Villa on the Pincio. Ennio Quirino Visconti (1751 - 1818) wrote the texts that accompany the large branches depicting. To these writings, which were found and made available by the son of the illustrious archaeologist, the publishers added only a few illustrations relating to some minor monument of which copper had already been engraved.
The engraved title-plate are signed by draughtsmen like Agostino Tofanelli, Stefano Tofanelli, Bernardino Nocchi, Domenico de Angelis or Teodoro Matteini, and by engravers Pietro Fontana Veneto, P. About the artist:
Zamy Steynovitz was born in Liegnitz, Poland in 1951 and at a very early age he aspired to be a painter. He won first prize in an art competition for children before immigrating to Israel in 1957.
Formally educated at the Art School in Tel-Aviv and the Royal Academy in London, he completed his studies and began artistic pursuits in earnest. Zamy established his place in the art world after displaying his work in one-man exhibitions around the world.
His art subjects has been strongly influenced by Jewish tradition and folklore. Additionally, his work presents general themes such as Paris cafes, still lives, flowers, circuses and landscapes.
In the early stages of his work, he used rich pastels and light brush strokes. When he visited South America in the early 1980’s, his work reflected his new surroundings and were further enhanced by local brightness and colorfulness.
His paintings are a reflection of his Eastern-European Jewish heritage, and they are enhanced by a rich choice of warm tones and colors
He became known in the circles of the Nobel Institute for Peace in Norway, and consequently was acquainted with many Nobel prize winners, such as Anwar Sadat, Menahem Begin, the Dalai Lama, Itzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Elie Wiesel, Desmond Tutu, Oscar Arias Sanchez, as well as many of the world’s greatest leaders and artists.
He tragically passed away in September of 2000.
The work of Zamy Steynovitz is held in numerous collections worldwide.

Thomas Goff Lupton was a mezzotint engraver and miniature painter who was the first artist to use soft steel plates in the art of engraving. He experimented with plates of nickel, steel and other metals before producing a satisfactory steel plate. It was well received, and from 1823, steel engravings superseded copper engravings. This development permitted a printing of up to 1,500 mezzotints of excellent quality. The copper plates formerly used were very soft and could produce only around fifty prints of similar quality. Roman Sustov was born in 1977 in Minsk, Belarus. In 1995 he graduated from Minsk Art College and six years later he graduated from the Belarusian Academy of Arts (Department of Graphic). Through this long training he has become a master in etching, lithography and linocut prints. His works can be found in collections in the USA, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, Japan, Russia and Belarus, and in the Contemporary Fine Art Museum (Minsk, Belarus).
