About the Item

A wonderful 19th century stipple engraving by Thomas Gauguin (1756-1831) after Joseph Barney (1753-1832). The print depicts a young boy sat on the ground, baiting a bird trap with grain. The bird he is after can be seen in the top of the tree, staring back at the boy. The print has been carefully finished with beautiful hand colouring and presented in a distressed white frame. Unsigned. On paper.
