Silkscreen print featuring one of Rodrigue’s iconic Blue Dogs, signed and numbered Artist Proof in gold marker. Published in 2000, this work belongs to the most recognizable series by the celebrated New Orleans artist.
Rodrigue (1944–2013) first developed the Blue Dog in the early 1990s, inspired by the Cajun legend of the loup-garou (a ghostly werewolf). Over time, the Blue Dog became his unmistakable signature — a pop-culture icon rendered with bold, flat colors, haunting eyes, and crisp outlines. Rodrigue’s style blends regional Louisiana folklore with a distinctly modern sensibility, elevating a local tale into an international symbol of contemporary art.
