She devoted much of her time to art education — as an education director for the Hudson River Museum, at the Lincoln Center Institute and the Bronx Council on the Arts. She was a consultant to the New York State Council on the Arts and the Connecticut State Department of Education and worked in many capacities, including director at the Museum of Modern Art’s education department from 1986 to 2001.
