About the Item
"War memorial of Viareggio" is a beautiful coloured etching realized by Giuseppe Viviani in 1956. In the center of the scene, there is a sculpture with some figures and the writing "Aipovericaduti Viareggio MCMXXVII" on the basement of the monument. On the background, there are some coloured buildings; in the foreground, some big coloured stylized flowers and some trees with a camouflage decoration.
The plate is hand-signed and hand-numbered with pencil on the lower left margin, edition of 200 prints. The work presents some moisture spots.
Giuseppe Viviani (1898) is a popular Italian artist and engraver born in Tuscany; the typical characteristic of his work is a linear, simple and essential sign with the presence of bright colours and a predilection of popular theme and seaside life and culture.
