John Stobart
John Stobart was a British maritime artist known for his paintings of American harbor scenes during the Golden Age of Sail. His fascination with the sea stemmed from childhood visits to his grandmother in Liverpool where he observed the city's busy docks. After graduation, he travelled to Africa with his father and made sketches of the 12 ports he visited there, inspiring him to pursue maritime art as a specialty. Stobart emigrated to Canada in 1957 where his paintings sold well to the various shipping companies on the St. Lawrence River. In 1965 he made his first visit to the U.S. and was offered a show at the Kennedy Galleries. Later, he established the Stobart Foundation to encourage traditional artists through scholarships. He moved in 2015 to Fort Lauderdale, Florida which is where he died in 2023 at the age of 93.

On the left is the Feldherrnhalle. The model for the building on Odeon Square was the Loggia dei Lanzi in central Florence, which was built in the 14th century. The two monumental lions...

Aaron Bohrod (21 November 1907 – 3 April 1992) was an American artist best known for his trompe-l'œil still-life paintings.
Education
Bohrod was born in Chicago in 1907, the son of an emigree Bessarabian-Jewish grocer. Bohrod studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League of New York between 1926 and 1930. While at the Art Students League, Bohrod was influenced by John Sloan and chose themes that involved his own surroundings.
Career
He returned to Chicago in 1930 where he painted views of the city and its working class. He eventually earned Guggenheim Fellowships which permitted him to travel throughout the country, painting and recording the American scene. His early work won him widespread praise as an important social realist and regional painter and printmaker and his work was marketed through Associated American Artists in New York. Bohrod completed three commissioned murals for the Treasury Departments Section of Fine Arts in Illinois; Vandalia in 1935, Galesburg in 1938 and Clinton in 1939. During World War II, Bohrod worked as an artist; first in the Pacific for the United States Army Corps of Engineers' Army War Art Unit...

A painter of landscape and figure subjects in Pennsylvania and Maine, Andrew Wyeth became one of the best-known American painters of the 20th century. His style is both realistic and abstract, and he works primarily in tempera and watercolor, often using the drybrush technique.
He is the son of Newell Convers and Carolyn Bockius Wyeth of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and was home-schooled because of delicate health. His art instruction came from his famous-illustrator father, who preached the tying of painting to life--to mood and to essences and to capturing the subtleties of changing light and shadows.
The Wyeth household was a lively place with much intellectual and social stimulation. Because of the prominence of N.C. Wyeth, persons including many dignitaries came from all over the country to visit the family. Andrew's sisters Carolyn and Henriette became noted artists as did his brother-in-law, Peter Hurd. The non-art oriented brother, Nathaniel Wyeth...
