About the painting:
This painting captures the tranquil charm of an English cottage garden, a space imagined with both delicacy and delight. Commissioned by a prestigious bakery for the packaging design of their signature scones and lemon tarts, the piece was inspired by the spirit of English teatime traditions.
Shizu envisioned an idyllic garden where rare lemon trees—unusual in the British landscape—flourish beside iconic English roses. The result is a playful, dreamlike scene that brings together the familiar and the fantastical.
Through soft brushwork and a gentle palette, the painting evokes the simple pleasures of being in nature: the scent of blossoms, the warmth of spring sunlight, and the quiet contentment of a peaceful garden moment. It celebrates a sense of stillness, beauty, and everyday joy—inviting the viewer to pause and take in the richness of the imagined world.

This is a large fine art proof, Giclée printed on fine art paper, then hand painted with detail finishing with original paints by the artist Shizico Yi.
It will be packed in a heavy duty tube because its large size, you can frame with your local Framer. We can advice your framing methods and choices if in need, just give us a shout.

Dr. Shizico Yi is a UK artist working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories .
With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.
