About the Item
Shizico painted plein air ; this painting is a part of Summer Bloom Series, it is Shizico Yi's ongoing project in every summer at her garden. She began gardening in 2015 to create a large, healing space for her then ill, elderly dog. After her beloved Labrador passed away, this memorial garden became a source of inspiration for her art and a place of solace as she coped with grief.
Through paintings, time is frozen on her canvas as she treasures the memories of loved ones with the offering of nature.
“Dahlias Bloom” is a hand painted proof, one of one, produced by Shizico Yi, London, 2024; painted on Giclée on durable aluminium panel, specially hand painted. 90% of the proof is painted by Artist, Shizico Yi, signed at the front , numbered and signed at the back.
This is the only hand painted artist's proof. Shizico was using hand-mixed original colours. As a result, it's uniquely one of a kind.

Size: 30 x 40cm. Made on a 3 mm high-quality aluminium panel with a matte finish.
*Signed at the front and numbered at the back with official label

-The painting is ready to hang and comes with a built-in fixing on the back.

Dr. Shizico Yi, the UK artist working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories .
With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.

Shizico Yi's work aims to explore artistic obsession through repetitive documentation of the domestic and the everyday.
