This striking original exhibition poster was published in 1987 to promote one of the most iconic Egyptology exhibitions of the decade: Tanis, L’Or des Pharaons, held at the Grand Palais in Paris from March 26 to July 20. Organized by the Association Française d’Action Artistique, this event unveiled to the French public the dazzling treasures unearthed from the ancient necropolis of Tanis, Egypt’s northern royal city.
At the heart of the poster is the luminous gold funerary mask of Psusennes I, an artifact often compared in splendor to the treasures of Tutankhamun.
