YELLOW PERSONAGE presents a lively, imaginative child-like character printed in bold colors - bright yellow, black, green, red, pink, blue and hints of white pop out as a smiling face attached to a stick figure style body suggesting two arms and black paint stroke fingers. YELLOW PERSONAGE is a playful, wild abstract portrait by Appel, one of the founders of the avant-garde art movement CoBrA active during the late 1940's thru early 1950's. His paintings are known for incorporating applications of vibrant, violent colors often possessing a primal, childlike quality.
