Original poster created for the American Dance Festival in 1992, designed by Sheila and Jeff Metzner. Hand-signed and numbered in black pen from the limited edition of 150. Printed by Rapoport/Metropolitan Printing Corp.
The composition is striking in its contrasts: one half of the image is dominated by a stark, monolithic block—suggestive of stone, cement, or an abstracted rock form—while the other half reveals the sensuous figure of a nude woman arching her back, her breast exposed. This juxtaposition of weight and vulnerability, solidity and movement, echoes the physical and emotional tension central to the language of dance.
A rare and evocative signed edition that merges the rigor of graphic design with the expressive intensity of performance art.
