About the Item

This charming and graphic 1953 French poster for Lactina Suisse, a product by F. Brunner of Lyon, showcases mid-century advertising design at its most appealing. Created by the artist R.R., the composition features a group of young calves and a curious piglet gazing up admiringly at the brand's distinctive anchor emblem, framed by Alpine scenery and a cozy farmhouse. The top of the poster proudly contrasts tradition and innovation, declaring Lactina as both “la plus ancienne marque” (the oldest brand) and “la plus moderne formule” (the most modern formula). The simple color palette of warm browns and reds, combined with confident linework and stylized typography, evokes rural purity and Swiss reliability — two key themes in postwar food marketing. With its strong graphic clarity and pastoral sentiment, this piece is not only a delightful glimpse into 1950s commercial art, but also a rare survivor from the golden age of European milk product advertising. A must-have for collectors of vintage ephemera, agricultural posters, or fans of mid-century design. Gastronomy - Advertising The oldest brand most modern formula - Milk Bellecaur

Loterie Nationale Original Vintage French Poster by Derouet Lesacq c1939
Located in Boca Raton, FL
This is one of a series of posters created for the Loterie Nationale (National Lottery) in France by a team of artists known as Derouet-Lesacq. In these posters, the element of simplicity is emphasized, allowing the artists to apply detail to the array of environments that these posters are set in. This Art Deco style poster is for a special Homemaking (Arts Menagers) lottery drawing. The man in the center of the image is shown lounging on a chair, presenting an unplugged chord, demonstrating comfort after his lottery win. The French Government promoted a nationwide lottery for many years, and during the 1930’s they commissioned artist Edgar Derouet to create many of their posters. Derouet realized his posters either alone or with one of his many collaborators. This poster is the result of a collaboration with Charles Lesacq, who worked with Derouet from 1938 to 1940. Edgar Derouet (1910-2001) is known for his simplistic, geometric and modern advertising posters for the French Lottery (Loterie Nationale). Derouet was selected by France to create a campaign for the Loterie Nationale because of his well-known reputation as a graphic artist. In his earlier days, Derouet studied with well-known poster artists Paul Colin and George Hamel, allowing him to further perfect his illustration technique. Derouet won an award for Best Poster of the Year in 1936 and was featured at the International Exposition in Paris, France in 1937. Charles Lesacq (1909-1940) was a French artist best known for his French National Lottery poster...
