About the Item
This unique tall ceramic vessel is handmade.
Bill Greaves creates handsome contemporary ceramics inspired by the colours, forms and textures found in nature. The Canadian ceramicist hand coils his eclectic vessels, building the forms. The remarkable visible texture of this piece is created by scraping the surface. The palette of this elegant vase is a neutral off white. The interior is an earthy dark clay colour. The former architect loves the tactile quality of clay and the almost endless possibilities that working with this ancient material possesses.

William Greaves received a Master of Architecture from Yale University and was a practising architect in NYC for several years before he became an artist full-time.
He studied ceramics at Alex Yeung Studio in Toronto from 2017 to 2019. His studio was set up in 2020 and is near Consecon, Ontario. His work is shown here in Ontario and in NYC.
