He also served as an associate professor of art, leaving a lasting influence on generations of artists. A long-time resident of Colorado Springs and member of the National Society of Mural Painters, Bransby received a doctorate of humane letters from the University of Colorado (1997) and a lifetime achievement medal from Colorado College (1998).
