About the Item
This large outdoor abstract sculpture by Jeremy Guy is hand-forged from stainless steel and finished in a glossy black. The striking elegant curves of Guy’s contemporary sculptures grace the grounds of many different countries in the world. Guy’s series, called Mobius features what appears to be a simple lyrical loop—the form is based on a mathematical construct that was discovered in the mid-19th century by a German mathematician named August Ferdinand Mobius. The design of Guy’s stainless steel sculptures has been digitally optimized to perfection and hand-forged by expert craftsmen.

Jeremy Guy was born and raised in a small town in West Yorkshire, England. A fine art major, in 2001 he graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with an Honours BA in Product Design. His sculptures are collected across three continents in both public and private spaces. Of note—the Place du Casino (Casino Square) in Monte-Carlo, M2M Colombo in Sri Lanka, Queen Ethelburga’s College Sculpture Park in the UK, Orchard Residences in Singapore, the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore, The Peninsula in Miami, Florida, The Ritz-Carlton in Toronto—in California, New York and Las Vegas.

Jeremy Guy
Jeremy Guy grew up in England where natural inspiration has come from the work of British modern sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Since completing a BA in Product Design (2001) from Leeds Metropolitan University, Guy has been in full time practice as a sculptor. He emigrated to Canada in 2007. Guy's stone and engineered stone sculptures can be found in public spaces and private collections worldwide including Queen Ethelburga's College Sculpture Park, North Yorkshire, UK, Orchard Residences in Singapore, the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore and more. "In my own abstract work I am acutely aware that nature champions great design. From the shaping of a beach pebble through years of tidal and elemental erosion to the myriad forms found in biology, I am often awestruck. My work conveys a sense of balance and peace as I strive to seek a seemingly impossible equilibrium between the simple elegance and dynamic complexity of the world in which we live." Jeremy Guy
