About the Item
Hand-coiled and pinched organic-shaped ceramic sculpture vessel by Jessamyn Go.
Jessamyn Go's work is deeply rooted in the visceral, meditative experience of working with clay. Drawn to the tactile sensation of her hands in the earth, she approaches each piece with intuition and intention, allowing the responsive nature of clay to guide a dynamic and fluid process. Her sculptural forms often emerge as biomorphic expressions, born from a silent yet powerful dialogue between the artist and her medium. Embracing moments of surrender, Go’s practice becomes both a physical and emotional exploration.
Surface treatment is an essential and expressive component of her work. The interplay of textures, including her signature crackled glazes and richly tactile surfaces, invites touch and closer inspection. Go’s sculptures and vessels are created not just to be seen but to be felt. She seeks to engage viewers in a physical experience, encouraging them to interact with her pieces. Ultimately, her art fosters a tangible connection—one that speaks directly to the senses and the soul.
