Sara Fine-Wilsons ”Eddy” is a gestural 11.5 x 14 x 12 inch ceramic sculpture in pale cream with accents of warm sepia, and grey. In this graceful and evocative sculpture individual slab elements are assembled, layered in glaze in some areas and left bare in others and fired in a reduced atmosphere. This process emphasizes the smooth fluid quality of the form. Fine-Wilson combines both raw and refined aesthetic qualities in her work by incorporating smooth, glossy, matte, rough and cracked surfaces.
