About the Item
This contemporary outdoor sculpture was forged from metal by a renowned Quebec artist.
The inspired abstract metal sculptures created by Stéphane Langlois are rooted in historical and architectural forms.
The Quebec artist’s elegant work is influenced by the shapes of the towers and church spires that are found dotting the landscape of his home province.
These striking triangular ‘towers’ of two different heights are cut and welded from aluminum. A signature of Langlois’s work–intriguing geometric interior panels are made from pieces of aluminum treated with acid to add patina and contrast. The exterior of each column is polished to a high sheen that reflects light.

Stéphane Langlois has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and studied sculpture at the Maison des Métiers d’art in Quebec City. Langlois has been sculpting professionally since 2002. His work, in wood and metal, has been seen in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is held in public and private collections in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Mexico.

Stephane Langlois
Quebecois sculptor Stephane Langlois finds inspiration in the architectural heritage of the world. Many of his abstract sculptures are shaped like the towers and church spires that dominate both city and country skylines. Stephane Langlois completed a bachelor's degree in psychology, in 2002, and a D.E.C in sculpture at the Maison des métiers d'art in Quebec City, Canada. In 2007, he created his first work of public art for the library of the Collège-des-Jésuites in Québec City. Working with wood and metal, Stephane Langlois has exhibited in solo and collective exhibitions. His works are part of private and public collections including The Loto-Québec Collection, Musée de la civilisation in Québec City, Musée des maîtres et artisans du Québec. Originally, from Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, Stéphane Langlois now lives and works near Quebec City.
