About the Item
This abstract optic glass sculpture created by Czech artist Tomas Brzon is noteworthy for both its geometric shape and purity. Brzon uses pure optic glass, void of any defects, which enables its purity to shine through. The cuts and contours of the design enhance the colors of the piece allowing it to radiate yellow hues of varying degrees depending on the light and angle through which one looks into the sculpture. This elegant geometric glass sculpture has distinct edges and points. Brzon polishes each piece meticulously to a high finish.

Contemporary Cast Glass Sculpture,
Norsel 2
, 2011 by David Ruth
By David Ruth
Located in Oakland, CA
'Norsel 2' is a contemporary cast glass sculpture by David Ruth from the Chill Project Series. This sculpture is made from up of soda glass mixed with cobalt to create the ice blue color. The piece is initially derived from textures taken off ice and rock in Antarctica. These textures were combined, molded, then cast in glass to create the form. The combination of the geology and glass show the close connection to time and the evolution of our planet.
About "Norsel 2' in David's Words:
"This block was the first piece I made upon my return from Palmer Station, Antarctica. The project was to take texture molds of the glacier ice and stone for later use in compositing sculptures in the studio. The central texture in Norsel was taken from a granitic rock...
