About the Item
Sculpture "Awakening." Cast Bronze. 1994 vintage.
The inspiration for this sculpture was my beloved wife. One day, I saw her naked in the morning light. Her skin was soft and tender, her eyes were still closed, and sleep had not yet fully left her. Her long hair cascaded across her back. The soft curves of her body were so beautiful that I was captivated. I created this sculpture as a manifesto of feminine beauty and tenderness. In the earliest hours of the morning, when sleep still embraces her, a woman is most natural and beautiful.
Born in 1954. 1976-1982 – graduated National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Department of sculpture.
2001 – Awarded with a title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. Work as a sculptor for more then 40 years. Participated exhibitions and fairs locally and worldwide. Had about 15 solo art shows While studying, Radionov worked as an assistant in National Opera Theater of Ukraine. Lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.
