Emile Andre Boisseau (French, 1842-1923) "Ense et Aratro" [By Sword or by Plow] Patinated Bronze Sculpture, retailed by Tiffany Co., late 19th century, the standing warrior holding a plow, the sword missing from his right hand, stamped "Tiffany Co. No. 603", signed on base, and with plaque inscribed ""Ense et Aratro / [Par l'epee et par la Charrue] / Salon des Beaux Arts". 34.5" H x 22" W x 14" D. The bronze sculpture "Ense et Aratro" by Emile-André Boisseau, created in the 19th century, is in the Neoclassical style. It is characterized by its realistic depiction of the human form and its allegorical representation of the relationship between military strength and agricultural prosperity. The sculpture often features a dark brown patina and is signed "E. Boisseau
