Bronze 67,5 cm signed restored Partina original Émile Louis Picault (1833–1915) was a French sculptor known for his dynamic bronze works, often depicting mythological, allegorical, or historical themes. He was one of the prolific figures of the late 19th-century French academic sculpture movement. Style: Highly detailed bronze sculptures; themes of heroism, virtue, mythology, and the arts. Subjects: Frequently created allegorical figures such as “Gloria Victis,” “Le Génie du Travail,” and representations of science, commerce, justice, and literature. Materials: Primarily bronze, often produced in multiple editions by renowned French foundries such as Susse Frères and Colin.
