Bronze sculpture, 15 cm × 22 cm × 17 cm.
Straight out of childhood, the bear appears in Eric Valat’s bestiary sculptural vocabulary. After the Bear benches, with very vivid and bright colors, Eric Valat is looking for reinventing the traditional bear representation ; the animal is lying down, crossing its legs. The sculpture shows an elaboration of the forms of the animal which tends towards purification and harmony. The patina with blue marbled tones gives it elegance and lightness.
Original artwork: signed and numbered sculpture (8 editions and 4 artist’s proofs).
Eric Valat graduated from the Toulouse School of Fine Arts, in France. His bronze animals are striking first and foremost for the élan that seems to animate them: they wander peacefully, or run wild, or just look at the sky for an answer to their presence on earth. In short, they invite us to tell ourselves stories, and to imagine our own fables. Since the late '90s, the artist has created over 30 monumental sculptures exhibited in private and public places.

Eric Valat
After graduating from the Toulouse School of Fine Arts, Éric Valat began working with recycled metal objects, which fascinate him because of their history. The artist combines them with synthetic and plastic materials, allowing greater creative freedom, and develops a bestiary of unique sculptures. Today, Éric Valat’s artistic production consists of animals created in bronze or polyester. With their poetry and an impetus that seems to animate them, they invite us to tell ourselves stories, and to imagine our own fables. Since the late 90s, the artist has created more than 30 monumental sculptures, exhibited in private and public places. “Through all the characters I create, I try to create sculptures that live, that turn, that move.”
