A new body of work that takes on a whimsical approach to bronze sculpture. With a passion for cars, and who doesn’t love dogs? He has combined these loves into fun new compositions with more on the way. He started with sheep dogs stealing away in a truck filled with the Farm’s sheep, a couple of stylish hounds racing an Italian sports car and two more speeding off on a Joy Ride. The series has grown and Gary intends to use these compositions as studies for enlargements of at least triple the maquette size. So keep this in mind for your garden or entry. Contact us now if you wish to sponsor the enlargements at a pre-cast rate and help determine the scale most suitable for your placement. The studies are currently available in editions of 75 and could be a great gift for any car enthusiast/dog lover.
Zany dogs driving classic cars with reckless abandon.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Taking the knowledge passed on from artists such as Fritz White, Glenna Goodacre
George Lundeen; Gary feeds into his bronze sculptures his own experiences and history. The child-at-play
sport motifs capture the Spirit of America.
“The challenge of sculpture is depicting the movement and energy of a single moment. The central theme of my work is celebrating the gift of life. Most of my work in the last few years has been commissioned. I enjoy the challenge of combining the client’s vision and needs with my own ideas to create lasting depictions of significant memories in their lives. Although I am open to considering many concepts involving the human figure, I am particularly drawn to capturing subjects in motion. Movement, after all, is what captures our attention. Children at play and athletes in motion are my favorite subjects because of the passion for life they demonstrate. It is a constant challenge to capture these qualities in bronze and pass that on to the viewer. When developing each new sculpture my primary concern is artistic integrity."
