About the Item
Kioveo midnight green is a polymer sheathed with crocodile skin sculpture by contemporary artist Jacques Owczarek, dimensions are 17 × 30 × 13 cm (6.7 × 11.8 × 5.1 in).
The sculpture is signed and numbered, it is part of a limited edition of 8 editions + 4 artist’s proofs, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This hippopotamus, crafted in polymer and clad in a striking dark leather embossed with a crocodile pattern, emerges through a dynamic interplay of lines, edges, and curves. Its features— the thick, low-slung body and the suggestion of a powerful head—are only subtly defined. What truly distinguishes the piece is the artist’s approach: a clear, structured form with geometric accents that verge on the cubist, giving the sculpture its unmistakable identity and uniqueness.
Jacques Owczarek is a self-taught sculptor who discovered his vocation at the age of 30—a moment he describes as his true beginning. A meticulous artisan, he shapes each work with exceptional precision, guided by an enduring pursuit of perfection. He approaches the creative process without a predetermined design, allowing the form to reveal itself. As he explains: “I take some clay, I work it, and I observe it. I try to perceive an animal, and gradually it appears. The clay speaks, and my hands merely interpret.”
Owczarek’s animal sculptures possess an almost magical quality: from one viewpoint, their final form seems unimaginable, yet a shift in perspective reveals entirely new dimensions. One must walk around the piece to fully grasp its many facets. His works radiate both sensitivity and humour, offering a glimpse into the soul of their creator.

Jacques Owczarek
Jacques Owczarek’s sculptures oscillate between figuration and abstraction, redefining the genre of animal sculpture. In his bronze bestiary, the artist favours purity of form, synthesising it in a distinct, highly original style. He allows himself to be guided by his intuitions, creating animals with dynamic, geometric lines that give an impression of movement to static matter. Jacques Owczarek has exhibited at some of the most prestigious international shows and fairs for almost 20 years. “For me, the animal is just a pretext, a pretext for shapes that will question, for volumes that will live, that will settle, that will take possession of the place, that will evolve in a direction that I will give them because they impose themselves on me.’’

Bucranium - Surreal Sculpture, Animal Sculpture, Green Metal and Resin Sculpture
By Angelo Canevari
Located in New York, NY
Angelo Canevari’s Bucranium is a 34 x 19 inch mix media surrealist sculpture. It is made of metal, resin, green automotive paint, and cardboard. It is a surrealist interpretation of the carved decoration, representing ox-skulls, commonly used in Classical architecture for the friezes of Doric temples. The same motif was also later used on Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical buildings. Canevari's contemporary interpretation is evident in the medium he chose to shape this artwork and yet it maintains the same commanding and monumental presence of the classical monuments that have inspired it.. The use of metal and wires to develop a tridimensional sculptural quality, as well as the expressionistic outcome of the imagery, has echoes in some contemporary African sculpture...

Sleeping Frog Bronze Sculpture Animal Green Patina Outside Realism In Stock
Pieter Vanden Daele was born in Belgium in 1971. He grew up between lakes and the river Scheldt. The river De Scheldt and the variety of lakes are an ideal environment for fishermen. When his friends went fishing, Pieter took painting lessons at the Oudenaarde academy. At a young age Pieter became fascinated by the underwater world and fauna. In 2000 he worked at an art foundation in Oudenaarde, where he learned how to make molds and how to cast and patronize bronze. His passions came together in 2003 and he started casting bronze sculptures of mainly carp.
The fish that he makes have a special texture, a skin with scales translated into bronze. VandenDaele has developed its own technology for this. Pieter builds the original model from organic material, such as leaves, wood, leather, wax and many other materials. He uses various organic materials in his molds to create special prints and structures in the skin of the bronze. This gives the sculptures so much character that names such as Ferox, Alphons and Ludwig do not surprise us.
The fish are alive, caught for eternity. Just as nature keeps prehistoric fish...
