The artist himself states that the statue is an anti-fascist statement, transforming Italy’s Fascist hand salute from the 1930s by cutting off the fingers and mutilating the hand. The fingers, except the medium one, are not flexed but cut off. In 2007 he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in Jiangxi Province.
