Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912) was a French sculptor, son and pupil of Jean-Baptiste Moreau. He distinguished himself with collectible bronzes depicting feminine grace, genre scenes, and allegories. He won the second Prix de Rome in 1842 with Diomedes Carrying Off the Palladium and exhibited at the Salon from 1848 onwards, where he received numerous awards.
At the 1855 World's Fair in Paris, he received a second-class medal, and in 1878 a first-class medal. In 1897, he was awarded an honorary medal at the Salon, and he served on the jury of the Salon during the 1900 World's Fair in Paris.
