“Jango” by Miquel Aparici is a creative fusion of form and function, capturing attention with its whimsical design. Constructed primarily from metal components, it depicts a stylised dog-like figure, cleverly integrating everyday objects into its structure. The distinctive feature is the head, made from an overturned sneaker with vivid pink laces, introducing an unexpected burst of color and humor. The sleek, dark metal body contrasts sharply with the shoe, enhancing the uniqueness and drawing the viewer's eye. Articulated joints suggest movement, imbuing the piece with a sense of liveliness and curiosity. The tail and ears, sharply pointed, add to the playful yet sophisticated aesthetic. In addition to exhibiting in various galleries in Barcelona, Miquel Aparici's work has travelled to several other cities around the world (New York, Copenhagen, Fribourg, Madrid, Vienna and Milan), and has been shown at international fairs, such as ART Bodensee (Austria), ART Copenhaguen (Denmark) and Art Fair de Cologne (Germany), as well as institutions, such as the Museum of Natural Sciences in Barcelona and the Sagrada Familia Temple, which in 2005 brought together a curious selection of various pieces by the artist inspired by the animals sculpted by Gaudí. Other spaces that have recently hosted an exhibition of his work are the Cristina Enea Foundation (San Sebastian) and the Miramar Cultural Centre in Sitges (Barcelona).
