About the Item
Unique terracotta sculpture
Signed by the artist
The contemplative creatures of Nili Pincas, of an extreme refinement, invite silence.
This isolation of the sculpted being seizes and soothes, at the same time as it questions.
Are we facing the face of anguish or introspection? The white or purple flesh, with a slightly grainy matte appearance, reveals the infinite sensuality of the artist’s touch. Nili Pincas invites us on a journey to the heart of the oceans, populated by huge protective fish that accompany men in their dreams. Because these are metaphors, spiritual quests, dreams of escape… these “girls of fire” carry us away! Seemingly fragile, they are nevertheless solidly anchored in reality and impose themselves with force. Powerful, almost virile in the rigor of their bearing, these women enthroned like modern goddesses, unshakeable totems. Reassuring, peaceful, they impose a distance from the whirlwind of existence and offer a rare moment of serenity.
