About the Item

Expressionist bronze sculpture using a direct paper model technique, this work presents a group of female figures beginning to fly. Óscar Aldonza creates each figure from crushed and folded paper forms, shaping them into gestural bodies that capture a sense of collective movement. These paper models are then translated directly into bronze without an intermediate mould, a process that preserves their irregular contours, accidental structures and the immediacy of the original gesture. Female figures, bronze sculpture and expressionist group composition remain central keywords in the reading of this piece. The figures hold one another by the hand, rising in a chain-like formation that evokes shared momentum, mutual support and a collective impulse towards liberation. Their heads, derived from partially crumpled paper, open outward like vessels of imagination. The sculpture suggests an ascent—physical, symbolic or emotional—towards a state of freedom unbound by conventional expectations. Because Aldonza’s paper-to-bronze method allows no corrections, each element retains the raw texture and unpredictability of its material origin. This makes the sculpture unique, with distinctive formal irregularities and expressive nuances. The piece measures 35 × 20 × 28 cm and weighs 2 kg. A custom wooden crate is included for secure international shipping. Preferential conditions can be offered for collectors interested in acquiring multiple works by the artist. "Alicia Graf 22" contemporary bronze table sculpture figurative dancing elegance
Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong
Alicia Graf 22 is a bronze sculpture with black and white patina, it is connected to a steel base. The edition size is 8. This sculpture stands on shelf and cannot be fixed on wall. Joan’s latest sculpture series of female figures brings an out-of-the-box approach to sculpture creation. The small vivid women figures linked or bonded to their pedestals; the figures are delicate and intriguing representation of a woman’s mind and soul yearning for liberty, freedom, a moment of tranquility from busy daily life, or a space that she could spend the time totally with herself and for escaping from the routine and monotony. The woman made of bronze is warm and sensual and dances in/on a structure of rusted iron. She observes the world from her/ours solitude, from this vertiginous watchtower (metaphor of life, universe) rusted because the inexorable time. The base rises impressively, creating a contradiction between both pieces. However, in Joan’s work the geometrical base and the figure find a surprising harmony.. BIOGRAPHY OF JOAN ARTIGAS PLANAS...
