About the Item

Expressive ceramic bust with forged-iron structure exploring the idea of lifelong learning through a fragile yet resilient human figure. This sculptural bust combines ceramic head and iron body to emphasise emotional tension and the expressive qualities of material and form. The artwork belongs to the “Aprendices” series, where elderly heads are placed on different bodies—ceramic, metal or mixed media—to question the paradox of learning at an advanced age. In this sculptural bust, the white-clay head, treated with oxides and smoke firing, contrasts with the open geometric structure of forged iron. The contrast between solid modelling and skeletal framework reinforces ideas of vulnerability, experience and continuous transformation. The expressive ceramic surface and the architectural iron body create a dynamic tension that defines the visual impact of this piece. Special pricing is available for multiple acquisitions within the series.
