About the Item

Expressive ceramic bust with high-fire glazes, oil-painted head and forged iron glasses exploring identity, learning and the aging body. This expressive ceramic bust belongs to Os Aprendices, a series in which elderly heads are placed atop bodies made of ceramic or iron, proposing a reflection on learning as an endless process. The piece combines high-temperature glazes with copper oxide, while the head is individually modelled and painted in oil, creating a layered tension between material immediacy and psychological depth. The forged-iron glasses introduce a sculptural accent that reinforces the artist’s interest in hybrid constructions and material dialogue. Surface irregularities, chromatic variations and the physical weight of the bust shape a compelling presence, suggesting the figure as an “eternal apprentice,” continually evolving despite age. Unique within the series, this work embodies a process-driven approach where gesture, accident and material behaviour actively contribute to the final form. We operate globally with the same attention and proximity we extend to our local neighbors. We oversee every detail and guide you through the purchase process with the utmost professionalism, ensuring complete satisfaction for each client, regarded as valued members of our community. As a small, specialist team driven by a deep commitment to art, we carefully select every artist and artwork, presenting our curated collection to an international audience from our corner of the Galician coast.
