Weight of the sculpture: 4 kg. Weight of the plinth: 15 kg. Dimensions (with the base): 142 x 45 x 35 cm (55.9 x 17.7 x 13.8 in) Dimensions (without the base): 38 x 23 x 8 cm (15 x 9.1 x 3.1 in) The sculpture is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity. For this series, Pavlína Kvita draws upon the symbolism of red earth as her conceptual point of departure—a material deeply rooted in ancient myths of creation, life, and death. Once used in rituals and burials, red pigment carried connotations of protection, vitality, and the sacred connection between land and ancestry. Inspired by this primal element, her sculptures—crafted from artificial stone—evoke ritual artifacts, hybrid beings, and totemic guardians. Set upon meticulously designed geometric pedestals, these works blur the boundaries between sculpture and design, matter and meaning. The Czech artist’s sculptures emerge from an intimate exploration of her inner world, giving form to enigmatic figures that feel both archaic and futuristic. These anthropomorphic and zoomorphic presences, silent and timeless, assert themselves in space with a balance of strength and grace. Their streamlined, dynamic contours verge on abstraction, embodying a continuous process of creation, transformation, and dissolution through which Kvita engages with the material and its endless expressive potential.
