"Elephant" is a bronze sculpture by famous Swiss artist Rolf Knie. The work is an original bronze sculpture in an edition of 13. Signed and numbered. Comes with certificate.
Rolf Knie (born in 1949 in Bern, Switzerland) is a well-known painter and artist. He was born into the Swiss circus Knie dynasty and established himself as an artist and painter with a brush of manifold imagination. He as wiedly exhibited his prints, sculptures and paintings internationally and worked with well known artist such as Jean Tinguely. In Knie's work , the boundaries between the two-dimensional image and the three-dimensional sculpture are vibrant, porous and always captivating. In his lithographs, natural color dominates his work and became more and more painterly. In his motifs Knie again and gain goes back to another her of zebras, a pair of tigers, a musical clown. In this the artist is not striving to expand outward, but rather, to plumb the depths of his theme.
