The Story:
In "Waiting," Taiwanese artist Ser Uang Huang transforms the mundane act of waiting for a bus into a moment of poetic beauty. The sculpture is inspired by a lighthearted verse written by the artist:
"Coming, or not coming. The bus isn't in a hurry, neither am I. The wind arrived first. The heart arrived long ago. Waiting, waiting... It seems everything becomes lovable."
The figure stands with a relaxed demeanor, embodying a philosophy that patience is not about endurance, but about enjoying the pause. Ser Uang Huang uses his signature "leaving the knife marks" technique to give the figure a rugged, organic presence, contrasting with the ethereal nature of the subject.
