Sergio Bustamante is a Mexican Artist and sculptor. Bustamante was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa in 1949 and studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara.
Bustamante's first art exhibition showcased paintings and papier-mâché figures at the Galeria Misracha in Mexico City in 1966. In 1975, Bustamante was part of a group of artists that established the Family Workshop Studio in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico. In the mid-1970s, his practice expanded to include wood and bronze and ceramic sculptures.

Sergio Bustamante
Sergio Bustamante studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara, and sold his artwork while in school, beginning in 1960. After graduating, he worked with local ceramicists, eventually opening his studio. In 1972, Bustamante moved to Amsterdam, where he learned more about painting and design. In 1975, he established his Family Workshop Studio in Tiaquepaque, Mexico. His monumental sculptures can be found in several cities, including Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Tiaquepaque.
