About the Item
Subrata Biswas - Innocent Life
Bronze, H 6 x W 11 x D 4.75 inches
Style : The motive of a child in its most basic form appears quite repeatedly in the works of Subrata Biswas. The elementary human form representing the child complements innocence, one generally associated with a child. But artistically, what is more interesting is how the sculptor made the simplistic form emerge by reconciling elements of both folk and classical form. It is more of a language than a style in which Subrata creates his narratives with the child and accessories associated with the child.

About his art work :
Subrata Biswas’s three sculptures ‘Think Green’, ‘Amigo’ and ‘City Bred’ a conscious selection of elements of folk forms simultaneously reflect formal economy and a statement on the rural-urban binary. I say this particularly because the elements of the urban remains camouflaged in these animated folk forms. The works are framed within the contexts of the simple and the complex.
There is a fantastic element in the works which is brought about by transforming the motifs of a fish, kite, an animal etc into larger than life forms. It is needless to say that all motifs are selected by the artist and are composed in such a manner so that the sculptural presence of each form gets enhanced.

Whimsical Bronze Sculpture by Francisco del Toro, Mexico, 1992
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Expressive and evocative bronze sculpture by Francisco del Toro (Mexican, Guerrero, 20th century), signed Del Toro ’92. This one-of-a-kind piece showcases del Toro’s mastery in merging organic abstraction with emotional figuration, embodying both movement and introspection through its fluid, surreal form.
The elongated figure, perched on a solid stone base, reveals a captivating dialogue between smooth, polished surfaces and rugged, textured elements — a hallmark of del Toro’s sculptural language. The patinated bronze transitions in tone from deep forest green to earthy bronze, emphasizing the interplay between form, texture, and light.
Del Toro’s work often explores the human spirit’s resilience and transformation, with this particular sculpture exuding both strength and vulnerability. The head, seemingly emerging from raw material, evokes a timeless and almost mythological presence, while the sensuous curvature of the body connects to themes of fertility and creation found in Mexican modernist sculpture.
An exceptional example of Mexican contemporary bronze art, ideal for collectors of Latin American sculpture...

Callindra II - Contemporary Elegant Original Figurative Bronze Sculpture
By Nando Kallweit
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Nando Kallweit’s "Callindra II" is a striking contemporary bronze sculpture that captures a poised and introspective moment. This modern figurative artwork features an elongated, faceless form sitting with crossed legs, exuding a sense of grace and quiet contemplation. The rich patina and textured bronze surface enhance its expressive simplicity, making it a compelling addition to minimalist, abstract, and contemporary art collections.
German sculptor Nando Kallweit produces figurative bronze sculptures and reliefs with aquiline and a graceful modern appeal. Kallweit is inspired by seemingly disparate cultures; the strength of ancient Egyptian sculptures...
