About the Item
This statue is handcrafted by lost wax process which is one of the ancient process of metal craft. Chengreshi is a form of Avalokiteshvara, also known as four armed buddha is seated on raised lotus throne in "Namaskara Mudra" or greeting/prayer pose. Third hand is holding a rosary and the other a lotus flower. 24K real gold plating is done on copper body.
A long process is required to make a statue complete unlike mass production. It is made by artisans of Patan, Nepal where skill is passed down for generations. A booklet on procedure of making a statue comes with the purchase.
