About the Item
Introducing a rare and unique sculpture out of production, the one-of-a-kind LA Fingers by Jack of the Dust. This SFX grade liquid urethane casting resin sculpture features two skeleton hands throwing the iconic LA hand sign, popularized by the famous photographs of Estevan Oriole and OG Slick.
Sculpted by Jack of the Dust Studios, this masterpiece is complete with a Certificate of Authenticity and signed and numbered on the underside, ensuring its authenticity and rarity. Standing approximately 7 inches tall by 9 inches wide and 5 inches deep, this sculpture is measured from the base, making it a perfect addition to any art collection.
The LA Fingers, also known as the LA Hand Sign or the LA Sign, is a hand gesture commonly associated with Los Angeles, California, particularly its hip hop culture. It consists of the thumb and index finger extended upward, forming an "L" shape, while the remaining three fingers are curled into a fist.
The exact origins of the LA Fingers are somewhat unclear, but it is believed to have first appeared in the 1970s in the gang culture of Los Angeles. The gesture was adopted by gang members as a way to show their allegiance to their respective gangs and neighborhoods. Over time, it became more widely recognized and was eventually adopted by the broader hip hop community, particularly on the West Coast.
The LA Fingers gained even greater exposure in the 1990s with the rise of gangsta rap, which brought West Coast hip hop to the forefront of the music industry. Rappers such as Ice-T, Ice Cube, and Dr. Dre were known to frequently use the gesture in their music videos and performances, helping to popularize it even further.
In recent years, the LA Fingers have become more widely recognized and used as a symbol of West Coast hip hop culture, as well as a representation of Los Angeles as a whole. The gesture can often be seen in popular media and entertainment, from movies and TV shows to sports and advertising.
Despite its origins in gang culture, the LA Fingers have transcended their roots and become a symbol of pride and identity for many people in Los Angeles and beyond. Today, the gesture is often used as a way to represent one's connection to the city, its culture, and its music.

Warm Thoughts (Geisha and Skull) Resin Sculpture
Located in Draper, UT
For sale is a stunning sculpture entitled "Warm Thoughts" by the talented artist Death and Milk. This piece is a unique and thought-provoking work of art that will captivate and intrigue anyone who lays eyes on it.
The artist, Death and Milk, began creating art as a way to cope with mental health issues, and this sculpture is a testament to the power of art to transform one's mood and outlook on life. The sculpture depicts a gentle geisha who appears to be lost in thought, but upon closer inspection, the viewer will notice that her tender demeanor is juxtaposed with the harsh skull upon which she sits. The sculpture invites the viewer to contemplate the duality of human nature and the conflicting emotions that can exist within the mind of a person.
The geisha's warm thoughts are contrasted by the anger and rage that fuels her mind, turning the inside of her skull red...

“I think that a work of art should puzzle viewers, make them reflect on the meaning of life” Antoni Tàpies
Moisés Gil’s sculptures can be described as philosophical and conceptual, as they encourage individuals to reflect and act in a never-ending existential struggle, in the face of the multiple situations by which they are affected in contemporary societies. Art is always a form of communication: communication with and between the materials employed by the artist, giving rise to an aesthetic visual balance able to convey feelings, emotions and ideas, all of which are essential to a nonconformist commitment and worldview.
Moisés Gil puts his representations of individuals in sculptural structures to better indicate the place of humans in the world, the place of contemporary individuals in their different environments, sometimes hostile; they are naked men...
