"Don t Wine, " Original Surreal Serigraph by Paula Schuette Kraemer Bill Weege
By Paula Schuette Kraemer
Located in Milwaukee, WI
"Don't Wine" is a mixed media piece, predominately a serigraph, by Paula Schuette Kramer and Bill Weege. Both artists signed in pencil in the lower right, and the title is in the lower left. It is one of a an edition of 50. The print is an explosion of bright colors, but red, blue, and green dominated the composition as they fade through the background. A blue figure climbs up a ladder out of an apple, hefting a large wine bottle overhead, which they pour out into the sea of wine. A man, woman, and long-necked orange bird also look out from the apple, reading for the stem of a floating bunch of green grapes. A group surrounds the grapes with their heads and shoulders above the water, eating the fruit. Birds fly through the background, dodging wine glasses and a vase of flowers that seem to be tumbling from a flying carpet. The entire image feels very surreal. Art size: 12" x 10" Frame size: 19 1/4" x 17" Paula Schuette Kraemer is an independent artist living in Madison, Wisconsin...

A fine recent piece from the artist's output responding to a small scale attention, post Covid / Pandemic. The way nature/cosmos will always triumph on any scale.. Mark Karasick, born in 1959 and raised in Canada, attended Art College in Toronto. He was introduced to encaustic painting in 1983 and has since continued to experiment with this Greco-Roman technique, mostly known through the Egyptian mummy portraits from Fayum and Hawara. In 1989, during his first visit to Italy, his work came to the attention of Swiss-Italian collector Signor Carlo Monzino, who sponsored Karasick to remain in Italy for five years of continued research and practice. Karasick has exhibited his works in solo and group exhibitions across North America, Asia and Europe. And in Canada and London, he has exhibited alongside artists such as :His most recent exhibition took place at the National Gallery of Sweden. Ecstacy, marble of a woman
By Jose de Creeft
Located in New York, NY
This romantic and lovely Alabaster marble is classic Jose De Creeft who was a world recognized stone sculptor carver. He has a remarkable career and story. And this work is what he is best known to do. Female form that has face and form emerging from rougher hewn areas of the stone. This was a technique that Rodin used as well and was popular around the turn of the century. Size is attractive as it can go on a well balanced table or a pedestal of easy size! Provenance: The Hannelore and Rudolph Schulhof Collection, New York* *Ecstasy was originally a part of the Schulhof Collection, founded by the couple Hannelore and Rudolph Schulhof and begun a few years into their marriage in the 1950s. The established collection is known for exceptional Postwar works including pieces by Johns, Rothko, and Twombly, to name a few. As Hannelore Schulhof stated in 2011, “Art is almost like a religion. It is what I believe in… it is what gives my life dimension beyond the material world.” Signed: J. De Creeft in the rear The stylized, placid face of Ecstasy, as well as the contrast between smooth and rough-hewn stone, are typical of de Creeft’s hand and instantly recognizable. Its natural alabaster inclusions and the generally fragmentized feel of the piece are both essential to its aesthetic and classic de Creeft. The Guadalajara-born sculptor studied alongside Rodin at the Académie Julian starting in 1905 and would eventually become Alexander Calder’s tutor in direct carving. Ecstasy was undoubtedly inspired by a wide variety of influences that had a profound effect on his work, including his early employment at the young age of six earning pennies by carrying stones to aid the construction of Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia, and an inspiring encounter with Inuit sculptors in Madrid’s El Retiro Park during the nascency of his career. Towards the mid-20th century, de Creeft was working within a group of Spanish expatriate artists in New York, including Vicente and Dalí. 1956, the year he carved Ecstasy—using the method of direct carving of which he was a firm proponent—marked the year he gained representation at the Contemporary Galleries in New York City. He would exhibit biannually there until 1966. In the 1950s de Creeft received numerous public commissions, including an eight-foot granite Poetess for the city of Philadelphia in 1951 and his famous 16-foot Alice in Wonderland climbing sculpture...

Original media artwork by Nahum Tschacbasov composed of watercolor, felt pen, and graphite on archival paper. Signed bottom middle and dated 1977. Condition is excellent. Presently unframed. Provenance: Estate of the artist Nahum Tschacbasov. Nahum Tschacbasov Biography : Russian-American artist Nahum Tschacbasov (1899-1984) is known for his cubo-surrealistic works which feature a strong psychological element. Some of his work bears a resemblance to work of another Russian-American artist--David Burliuk. He was somewhat of a late starter, moving to Paris in 1932 to study under Adolph Gottlieb, Marcel Gromaire and Fernand Leger. He had his first exhibition in Paris in 1934. He then returned to the US where he joined Rothko and Gottlieb at the Galery Seccession. He was one of the co-founders of The Ten, a group of social conscious abstract painters which included Rothko, Gottlieb, Joseph Solman and Ilya Bolotowsky, among others. In 1944, he began to work at Stanley Hayter's Atelier 17, a center for surrealistic ideas. Between 1936 and 1943, he had five one-man exhibitions at the ACA Galleries and participated in five group shows. He also exhibited at the Whitney, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Knox Albright Museum, the Chicago Institute of Fine Art and Corcoran, among others. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Met, the Whitney, the Brooklyn Museum and the Jewish Museum. Tschacbasov has been the subject of two recent retrospective at Fletcher Gallery, Woodstock, NY and Arthur...

OBLADI OBLADA, by Pamela Boullier Ross, speaks to the artist's evolution as a painter through clever experimentation with style and technique in this distinctly one-of-a-kind original masterpiece. "Obladi Oblada... Life Goes On" is a fun and happy painting that was the result of an art critic, a stranger who have me a heart, a discovery in paint technique and the additive 3-D elements of copper wire, scraps from the floor of my friend Rocco, a mobile artist in the studio next door, composition to The Beatles White Album.
