The soda nicknames went on hiatus when the GMT-Master II Reference 116710BLNR Batman came along, in 2013. Its black-and-blue Cerachrom bezel was just too close a match to the Caped Crusader’s costume, although it has also been called the Bruiser, because of its resemblance to a black eye.
The Batman has only ever had a Cerachrom bezel, which Rolex had by then perfected in several color combos, including this one. The model was initially introduced with an Oyster bracelet but relaunched in 2019 with a Jubilee (see Batgirl) as Reference 126710BLNR. Former Batman Ben Affleck, naturally, wears a Rolex Batman. It’s also a favorite of musicians and athletes, including Bruce Springsteen, Roger Federer and Patrick Mahomes.
