Raymond Graber’s practice centers on the transformative properties of light and perception. Working at the intersection of sculpture, light, and technology, Graber creates immersive environments dissolving the boundaries between the physical and the intangible.

Drawing influence from the Light and Space movement of the 1960s and the photographic process, Graber’s work explores how the experience of light can shape emotional and sensory awareness. Through the use of curated light sources and architectural interventions, his sculptures alter the viewer’s sense of dimension and duration. The slow transitions of color and intensity in his work evoke a quiet dialogue between presence and impermanence—each moment uniquely experienced yet ephemeral.

Graber’s light sculptures are deeply influenced by the artist’s interest in spirituality, the scientific principles of light, and the nature of optical perception – and informed by a decades-long career as a large format photographer, experiencing the infinite range of atmospheric color spaces and seasonal twilight skies in locations all over the world.

Known as a visual thinker and master of lighting, Graber now refines his photographic eye to create seamless, conceptual light visuals —timeless minimalist objects marked by an ethereal prowess that enhances an ambience, yet never overpowers the emotion of experience.

Raymond Graber was born in Ohio in 1967. He currently lives in San Francisco and continues to explore the world in search of light wave inspiration.

Resin-based art has clean, sharp lines and a definitive shape. Resin is a liquid that hardens to a high-gloss surface and is used to seal wood, counters and floors. Resin can also seal artwork, and many artists tint it using pigment powder, ink, spray paint and other vivid materials. If water is added, the resin will turn milky instead of being completely transparent. It’s common for artists working in mixed media to use resin on nontraditional surfaces like glass, wood, metal and stone. This creates a shine that’s perfect to brighten a dull space in the home or office.
