The First Period Worcester Porcelain Japan pattern colored pair of sauce tureens, covers stands are painted in Kakiemon-style colors with two phoenix type birds, one flying above with wings outstretched amongst prunus and chrysanthemum sprays with a wheatsheaf motif in the foreground. The border with a rim of alternating designs, one in gold and one in rouge de fer red. The rim of the underdishes and the covers with a pie-crust edge. The handles in the form of twigs with flower terminals and green leaves.
Dimensions: Overall: 8 1/4 inches wide x 6 1/2 inches deep x 5 1/4 inches high; Tureens: 4 3/4 inches high x 7 inches wide; (Overall: 20.96cm wide x 16.51cm deep x 13.34cm)
Condition: the condition is good with expected very minor losses to the edge of some flowers.

The early First Period Worcester porcelain sauce boat is modeled in the form of overlapping cos lettuce leaves. This form and decoration are based on Meissen porcelain form and decoration. This unusual molded example has a looped stem handle and is decorated inside and out with scattered flower sprigs and insects, finished with raised fruit near the handle juncture.
Mark: Puce workman's mark.
Dimensions: 7 1/4 inches in length x 3 1/4 inches x 4 inches
Condition: Good with a tiny frit to the exterior of the lip
