Adolf Hallman was a Swedish illustrator who sensibly contributed to Swedish, Danish and Norwegian newspapers and magazines, including Tidens Tegn, Dagbladet, Exlex and Politiken. På Boulevard Europa is one of his famous books. He illustrated editions of Charles Baudelaire's book Fleurs du Mal and Guy de Maupassant's book Boule de Suif.

Provincetown Players is a beautiful black and white lithograph on "C. M. Fabriano" watermarked paper, made by the Swedish illustrator and reporter Adolf Reinhold Hallman in 1959. The state of preservation is excellent. On the back the blue ink stamp "Made in Italy by Adolf Hallman, 54 Via Margutta Roma". at the center of the sheet. Including a white cardboard passepartout, cm 34 x 49.
On the lower margin and on the right margin there are black ink hand-written notes, inside the image, the date and the signature “Hallmann”.
The inscription that gives the title to the artwork refers to the American theatrical organization began performing in 1915 in Provincetown founded by a nontheatre group of writers and artists whose common aim was the production of new and experimental poetry.
In 1916 the group produced in New York City Eugene O’Neill’s Bound East for Cardiff and Thirst, thus launching the career of one of America's distinguished playwrights. About the artist:
Scott Fitzgerald received his Master’s Degree in Arts from California State University Fullerton, and went on to teach drawing and printmaking for 2 years at the university.
During his college years, he focused his study in contemporary art and photography, creating mixed media works often with social comments. It was not until the sophomore year, he discovered the traditional art of etching in his printmaking class. Immediately, he embraced the complex and difficult technical process of making prints from etching on copper plates.
Scott Fitzgerald established himself as a prominent printmaker in the next few years. With a strong interest in history, he accepted a commission to produce a series of etching depicting 15 Orange County historical landmarks. About the artist.
Antoine Calbet is the son of Marie Singlande and Jean-Baptiste Calbet, landowner at a place called Gaubert.
Trained at the School of Fine Arts in Montpellier by Édouard - Antoine Marsal (1845-1929) where he learned drawing, this illustrator and illustrator, a painter of nudes and gallant scenes, was very popular during his lifetime.
Antoine Calbet is then admitted to the School of Fine Arts in Paris in the studio of Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889). He was a member of the admission jury of the Beaux-Arts from 1913 to 1930. He began to exhibit in 1880 and became a member of the Society of French Artists . He was the friend of his compatriot of Lot-et-Garonne, the President of the Republic Armand Fallières , for which he drew the menus of his meals, which made him known in Parisian salons.He illustrated works by Jean Lorrain , Henri de Regnier , Pierre Loues 3 and for periodicals like L'Illustration .
